Look in the Cape Ads (every Thursday) for a place to stay. Your best bet will be a flat or house in the area's Tamboerskloof, Gardens and Oranjezicht. These are situated close to the City centre and have a fab view over Table Mountain.

Climb Lion's Head (hill right of Table Mountain) during full moon for magical vista's over your new city.

Between September and December: keep an eye out for the ocean, as it is whale season. During these months, large pods of Southern Right whales migrate along the Cape Coast. A natural phenomenon, not to be missed.
4.
Be careful, not paranoid. Yes, there is crime in Cape Town, like there is crime in every city.
5.
Visit the townships! A good tour operator is Cape Capers. These areas are incredibly interesting and will give you a good idea about how history shaped this country.
