Expat Women: Helping Women Living Overseas. Expatriate Women Living Abroad

Our Website

ExpatWomen.com is the largest global website helping women living overseas. But as of March 2012, we are currently 'taking a break' after six years of tireless dedication and answering thousands of emails from expatriate women all over the world. This means that we are currently not sending out newsletters, not accepting new links or partners, and not receiving emails (sorry). If you would like to join our community of 15,000+ members so that we can keep you in the loop when we have news in the future, please sign up here.

Breaking news (April 2014) – ExpatWomen.com has a new owner! Stay tuned for news soon of our exciting relaunch date.

In the meantime, we will keep our site online and continue to maintain our blog directory. Our site still shares 2,300+ expat women blogs, interviews with successful women living abroad, 300+ readers' stories, information for nearly 200 countries, links for expat clubs and international schools, fabulous newsletters in our archives, and hundreds of motivational articles. Whether this is your first experience living abroad, you are a long-term expat woman, a repatriate, researcher, a HR professional looking for relocation resources, or someone just dreaming about expat living, our site still has something for you.

If you have appreciated our work and would like to brighten our day, please write some nice words for us, via our Testimonials page. Thank you!

A special thank you also to the companies who provided major financial support to us between January 2007 and March 2012: Trafimar Relocation Services; Aetna International; HSBC International; Clements Worldwide; SIRVA Relocation; Barclays Wealth; K12; Confused.com; Exchange4Free; MyDestination; and Taxes for Expats.

ExpatWomen.com was created by two friends, Andrea Martins and Jill Lengré, when they were both living in Mexico City. Their dream of connecting expatriate women worldwide was a result of their combined 20 years of experience living overseas.

Andrea and Jill worked together on the web site for two years (one year prior to launch on 16 January 2007, then one year after launch) before Jill repatriated to the United States and accepted a senior product manager role for an information technology company in California. Andrea continued to run ExpatWomen.com with the help of a small team based in different countries around the world until March 2012 (when the site was put 'on a break'). Another expat acquired the site in April 2014.
