British Ladies of Amman
http://www.britishladiesofamman.com/
The British Ladies of Amman (BLA) held its first meeting in June 1975 with the aim of promoting social relations among the British and Commonwealth community in Amman, and to help newcomers learn about and understand Jordan and its people. Membership to the BLA is open to British nationals and members of the Commonwealth. They also invite a small number of associate members whose only requirement is to have an active interest in the club. Since its inception the British Ladies of Amman have raised money to fund their charity programmes, which include providing equipment, food, clothing, medical aid and appliances to many societies, institutions and schools etc in different areas of Jordan. They claim to take great care not to waste any money and every Dinar they raise buys something for the needy, nothing is retained by the club.
