Widow, mother, two-time breast cancer survivor, dance-degreed from UCLA, dance librarian, newspaper dance critic, ex-professional dancer, expatriate, solo traveler and writer, that's me. With degrees in English, Dance, and Library Science from UCLA, I have published many articles and reviews in professional journals and magazines. My solo travels to Europe and Latin America have inspired several pieces published in Skirt!, Passion Fruit, Moxie, Journey Woman, Dancing USA, Go Nomad, Open Spaces, Porthole, Atencion San Miguel, The Cusco Weekly, and various online magazines. I also write two online columns, Chips N Salsa, and San Miguel Diaries. I was the dance critic for the Cerritos News in Orange County before moving to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico , in 2001.
In Mexico I held a writers' group, was the Crucifer at my church, and learned flamenco. I also at request revitalized my belly dance career and came out of retirement with new costumes to perform at the local theater. Now living in Buenos Aires where I tango every night, I was a dancer all my life of ballet, jazz, belly dance, folk, salsa, swing, it wasn't until seven years ago that Tango took me and I have spent thousands of hours in tango halls around the world, gathering information, experiences and inspiration for The Church of Tango; A Memoir. This year I was a Finalist in the Campeonato Metropolitano de Tango, and finished #11 out of more than 500 couples, and I was the only foreigner.

- Bring your pet and as
many of your treasured books, linens, paintings, & photos
as possible.
- Don't expect it will be easy to make
close friends in another language, and don't expect your friends
back home will remember you forever.
- Have high-speed internet hookup in
your foreign home.
- Bring you favorite salsas, canned
foods, spices, condiments, peanut butter.
- Expect to spend a whole lot more money than
you plan on.
- Volunteering is a great way to meet
people, learn the culture, and to feel good about yourself.
