We all have things in our life that seem to control and shape our destiny - but how many of these manipulative strings are we merely clinging to as an excuse for not getting on and enjoying life? Here are 10 tips for cutting the puppet master's strings and breaking free.

1. Never deal with WHAT Ifs - always deal with FACT

2. Overcoming is much healthier for you than overwhelming. The next challenge won’t seem to be as bad you will know you are much stronger and resourceful every time you face anything head on.

7. Control all that can be controlled in relation to your emotions.

8. Independence does not mean you have to be alone, it ensures empowerment, and means you have the right to draw on resources which are going to help not hinder

9. Don't be afraid to fail but make sure you hop right back into fighting mode

10. Embrace the challenge, knowing you are going to become stronger and even more resourceful
